Taco Salad

1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion chopped
1 (14 oz) can kidney beans
1 pkg taco seasoning
¼ tsp. salt
1 head lettuce cut into fork size pieces
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1 Cup Thousand Island dressing
1 Cup taco sauce or salsa
1 bag tortilla chips crushed
1 avocado sliced (optional)
4 tomatoes cut into small wedges

Brown meat with the onions, kidney beans, taco seasoning and salt in a skillet. Allow to cool to room temperature.

In a large bowl combine lettuce, cheese, dressing, sauce, chips, avocados and tomatoes. Then add beef mixture and mix through salad. Serves 6-8.
